Revamping Medical Facilities in Odesa
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting with representatives of the International Medical Corps.
In 2024, a renovation of the underground shelter at Maternity Hospital No. 5 was completed, which included upgrades to ventilation, water supply, heating, and drainage systems.
The facility is now equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, including a powerful oxygen concentrator for artificial lung ventilation.
All necessary conditions for childbirth and medical assistance to mothers and newborns have been established here.
Additionally, the International Medical Corps renovated the basement areas to open a temporary shelter for residents of neighboring buildings.
"I thank our partners for their support. We have provided the maternity hospital with three powerful generators for backup power supply, ensuring autonomous energy for the shelter and the women's clinic," noted Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The city budget also funded the purchase of modern resuscitation equipment for the intensive care unit and a Class C ambulance.
Maternity Hospital No. 5 specializes in providing obstetric care for preterm births and intensive therapy for newborns weighing as little as 500 grams.
