Blood Donation Campaign to Support Ukraine's Defenders
Last week, with the support of the «Donor Odessa» project and the administration of Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 3, a significant blood donation campaign was held to aid injured defenders of Ukraine. Medical staff from the Odessa Regional Blood Transfusion Station facilitated the mobile donations.
Over two days, staff from departments of the children’s hospital in the Kyiv and Peresyp districts of Odessa donated blood. On the second day, employees from the Primary Healthcare Center No. 5 also participated. In total, about 50 donors contributed, saving dozens of lives.
The demand for donor blood has remained exceptionally high since the onset of the full-scale war, as it is crucial for saving both military and civilian patients.
Groups interested in organizing mobile blood donations can do so at their own location. Here’s how:
1. Assemble a group of 25-50 willing donors and ensure no absolute contraindications or temporary restrictions exist for blood donation.
2. Coordinate a convenient date by calling 0668422387 or messaging on Telegram @donorodesa.
3. Follow certain restrictions regarding diet and medication prior to blood donation.
