Stroke Prevention Day in Odesa
On October 29, in Odesa, an event dedicated to stroke prevention and early detection of associated risks was held in honor of World Stroke Day. The initiative was supported by the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center.
On this day, anyone interested could undergo a free preventive examination, including blood pressure measurement, pulse checking, blood glucose level assessment, ECG, and receive referrals for laboratory tests and consultations with specialists if needed. Doctors provided patients with advice on stroke prevention.
As a result of the event, a total of 1735 individuals underwent examinations. This led to the identification of 294 cases of high blood pressure and 102 cases of elevated blood glucose. A total of 867 ECGs were conducted, with 136 patients referred to a cardiologist. Laboratory tests were conducted for 895 individuals.
