• Exercise extra caution when crossing streets—do not run. Remember that a vehicle's stopping distance is significantly increased on snowy roads.
• At bus stops, stand away from the edge of the road to avoid slipping into traffic.
• Do not keep your hands in your pockets while walking, as this increases the risk of injury during a fall. Use handrails when descending stairs.
• Pregnant women are advised not to go outside unaccompanied.
