In the Odesa region, law enforcement agencies organized a training session for children, teaching them how to respond in dangerous situations and avoid risks. The event also paid tribute to the heroes who fought for Ukraine's freedom.
The police emphasized essential road safety rules: how to cross streets safely, use reflective materials at night, and behave correctly near roads while biking or using electric scooters. Children had the chance to act as traffic regulators and discussed real-life scenarios to reinforce their knowledge.
The police also held a discussion on violence prevention, explaining to children the different types of violence, providing real-life examples, and stressing that aggression and humiliation are not acceptable. Children learned where to seek help – from parents, teachers, or the national hotline, and received handouts with advice and contact information.
Attention was also directed toward online threats. Kids were introduced to various forms of online scams, the dangers of communicating with strangers, how to identify suspicious messages, and safe internet usage rules. They were also reminded of what to do during air raid alerts and the importance of following safety protocols.
In addition, in honor of the Day of Dignity and Freedom, celebrated on November 21, the police and children discussed national values, watched a themed video, and recalled Ukraine's state symbols. The students made a Ukrainian flag and lit a candle in memory.
At the end of the event, law enforcement encouraged the children to be responsible, care for their own safety, respect others' rights, love their homeland, and value national treasures.
