Road Safety and Tolerance Education for Youth

17 November 2025

In the Odesa region, events were held to commemorate the Road Safety Week and International Tolerance Day.
Inspectors from the educational safety sector, along with patrol police, visited schools to discuss the significance of adhering to traffic rules, combating bullying, and fostering tolerance among students.
Law enforcement emphasized the critical importance of following traffic regulations. For younger students, police demonstrated the correct way to cross the street, highlighting key safety points. The children also engaged in drawing traffic lights and signs to reinforce their understanding. Wearing reflective vests, the officers illustrated how these vests make children more visible on the road.
During the sessions marking International Tolerance Day, celebrated every November 16, police conducted interactive lessons for students to discuss respect for others, embracing diversity, and building friendly relationships in their groups. Officers explained that tolerance goes beyond politeness; it involves daily actions that cultivate a safe and welcoming school environment.
The discussion also addressed bullying, its various forms, and the dangers of indifference to aggression. Officers stressed that supporting classmates and being willing to listen are foundational to a safe and friendly environment. Children were reminded to report any bullying incidents to adults immediately.
At the end of the sessions, children received sweet treats, reflective smiley faces, and backpack charms to help them stay visible on the roads and serve as a reminder of the knowledge and skills they acquired.
