Celebration of Bulgarian Culture in Odesa
The Week of Bulgarian Culture in Odesa concluded with a vibrant festive concert. November 1st — the Day of National Awakeners — symbolizes the unity of the Bulgarian community, regardless of where they reside.
The Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria greeted the audience and presented Certificates of Appreciation to those who contributed significantly to the development of Bulgarian cultural heritage.
«During the festival days, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the richness of Bulgarian culture — music, literature, and folk art. These events vividly illustrate how intertwined our cultural traditions and histories are. Bulgaria has left a notable mark on Odesa, and the Bulgarian community remains an integral part of our society», — emphasized the Acting Mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval.
The concert featured the renowned folk singer and composer from Macedonia, Iliya Lukov — a true legend of Bulgarian music, recognized for his initiatives supporting Bulgarian identity both in Bulgaria and abroad.
Additionally, folk ensembles from Odesa region performed, bringing warmth, sincerity, and the richness of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cultural ties to the audience.
