Care in Action: “Social Taxi” Helps People Stay Mobile
In Odesa, the «Social Taxi» project has been successfully operating for a year, initiated by the local city council with the support of the organization «Barrier-Free».
This service is designed for people with disabilities to ensure safe and comfortable transportation to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, social services, and other institutions.
Since its launch, «Social Taxi» has completed over 2,500 trips, helping residents of Odesa overcome not only distances but also barriers.
The project is implemented in collaboration with the ambassador of the national project «Movement Without Barriers», Valentina Khoruzha, as well as veteran organizations, athletes with disabilities, and community associations.
To use the service, one must call 15-01 or fill out an application on the «Barrier-Free» organization’s website or the official Odesa city website.
The city continues to develop initiatives aimed at creating an accessible environment for all residents.
