Recognition for Odesa Energy Workers Amidst War

21 September 2025

In the Odesa region, DTEK workers were honored with prestigious awards from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Chornomorsk City Council. These accolades were presented for their dedicated efforts during the war and the swift restoration of electricity after attacks.

This was reported by the press service of DTEK Odesa Electric Networks.

Specifically, the chief specialist in commercial loss management, Vitaliy Shestun, received a certificate from the Cabinet for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the energy infrastructure in the region during martial law.

Additionally, nine other specialists were awarded certificates from the Chornomorsk City Council for restoring power after the attack on the night of August 30 to 31. At that time, over 30,000 homes and critical infrastructure facilities in the Odesa district were left without electricity. Within three days, energy workers managed to restore power to the people and restart the equipment.

The Chornomorsk community has been targeted by enemy attacks before, but the consequences of the latest assault were tremendous. However, thanks to the professionalism of our energy workers, light was restored in just a few days. I am confident that light will always triumph over darkness,” emphasized the head of the Chornomorsk community, Vasyl Huliaiev.

Honored with certificates were Dmytro Vasyliev, Vitaliy Bielev, Oleksii Kurenkov, Oleksandr Ropotan, Oleg Danyshevskyi, Valerii Solodovnikov, Oleksii Nepomyshchyi, Pavlo Tykhonchyk, and Vadym Yakubovskyi.

It is worth noting that in March, 87 employees of DTEK Odesa Electric Networks also received certificates from local government bodies for their rapid restoration of electricity after attacks in Odesa and the Odesa district.
