Award Ceremony for the “A Time of Great Expectations”
On September 17, 2025, the Odesa Library No. 2 hosted the award ceremony for the winners and participants of the annual “A Time of Great Expectations” contest. This event was initiated to support creative individuals across various fields of art and literature and to promote interest in the native region and its history.
A total of 31 entries were submitted, including books, collections, magazines, and paintings.
In the "Prose" category, the winner was the renowned Odesa writer Alexander Surilov for his book "The Business Debut of Odesa", dedicated to the history of automotive movement in the city.
In the "Poetry" category, the award went to Roman Lyubarsky for his poetry collection "Lilac Paradise".
Roman Lyubarsky is an active member of the literary community, belonging to both the National Union of Journalists and the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. His works have appeared in numerous publications in Ukraine and abroad.
In the "Local Studies" category, the award was given to Felix Kohrikht for his unique publications about Odesa's history.
In the "Maritime Literature" category, the laureate was Anton Sanchenko for his maritime anthology "Matelot", which includes the best stories from Ukrainian maritime prose.
All participants received acknowledgments for their contributions.
Students from Arts Schools No. 3 and No. 13 congratulated the winners with musical performances.
