Conference on Digital Education in Odesa
At the Odesa Lyceum «European», the conference took place as part of the Open Educational Forum #EducationOdesa – 2023, focusing on the topic of «Digital Technologies in Education: Artificial Intelligence in the Learning Process».
The primary aim of the event was to familiarize educators and the community with the latest digital and information technologies being implemented in educational institutions, as well as the use of ChatGPT and other digital tools in teaching practices.
More than 200 participants attended the conference, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Scientific Institution «Institute for Modernization of Education Content», along with leaders and educators from community-owned educational institutions in Odesa, higher education institutions, and representatives from NGOs and international aid projects interested in educational digital technologies.
The conference was opened by Iryna Stolbova, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council. In her speech, she outlined the main principles for the implementation and realization of digital technologies in general secondary education institutions for the 2023/2024 academic year, emphasizing adherence to current Ukrainian legislation when selecting digital products.
During the event, discussion panels were held on the following topics:
- Digitalization of education during and after wartime;
- Creating a digital educational space;
- Use of digital tools in educational institutions;
- Safe contemporary educational environment;
- Utilizing ChatGPT in educational activities.
As a result of the conference, a resolution was adopted emphasizing the need to form a working group for the creation and operation of Ukraine's digital educational space. Recommendations were also provided for developers of national educational software products to comply with the requirements of the Ukrainian state standards, current legislation, personal data protection, and the European Union's guidelines for establishing an electronic educational environment.
The conference was organized by the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council, the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Modernization of Education Content," and companies offering various digital systems and tools.
