Honoring Ukraine's Heroes in Odesa
On August 24, Odesa hosted a solemn ceremony to commemorate the heroes in honor of the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. This event was a significant occasion for all who cherish freedom and independence in our nation.
The ceremony at the Memorial to the Fighters for Ukraine included city and regional officials, military personnel, veterans, clergy, and local residents. Participants honored the fallen with a moment of silence and expressed gratitude to those who continue to defend Ukraine.
As part of the national festivities, state awards were given for significant contributions to the fight for independence and the defense of the country. Among the honorees was Petro Senyak, an excavator driver who actively participated in constructing fortifications in the eastern front as part of volunteer groups.
