Commemoration of the Holodomor Victims
On November 23, a commemoration was held in Odesa to honor the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
This tragic event in the history of the Ukrainian people caused immense suffering and loss. During the Soviet era, discussing it was forbidden, and the memory was passed down orally from generation to generation.
Today, we speak out about this tragedy so that the world knows and remembers the millions of innocent lives lost due to the genocide perpetrated by the Soviet government. This year, we once again honor the victims of Stalin's genocide amidst a full-scale war that includes genocidal actions by Russia against Ukrainians.
Every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and the mass artificial famines of 1921-1923 and 1946-1947.
