21 June 2025

A new multi-sport complex has been inaugurated in Odessa along the Black Sea coast, marking a significant advancement in inclusive sports infrastructure.

This facility, located on «Dolphin» beach, offers a variety of sports activities. The opening was highlighted by boxing training, karate sessions, and strength exercises. The middle area serves as a hub for competitions in sambo, table tennis, and wushu. On the lower level, veterans and people with disabilities tested inclusive exercise equipment and participated in an adaptive Muay Thai masterclass led by world champion Vasyl Sorokin.

The ceremony was attended by Odessa's mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, local government representatives, veterans, athletes, and youth.

In his speech, the mayor emphasized the importance of accessible sports infrastructure that supports a healthy lifestyle and unites the community in challenging times. He noted that this initiative resulted from the collaborative efforts of government, business, and the local community.

«This space was created by those who seek no fame but work steadily for the betterment of the community. It is designed to be accessible for everyone: residents, visitors, people with disabilities, families with children, and veterans who require physical activity and rehabilitation,» stated Hennadiy Trukhanov.

The sports complex is equipped with 12 modern exercise machines, a boxing ring, a crossfit area, a gymnastic complex, and all necessary facilities for comfortable and effective sports practice.
