The suspect has been charged. He faces imprisonment.

The incident took place a few days ago in a village of the Sarat territorial community. It has been established that a 29-year-old acquaintance visited the home of a 38-year-old local resident, where a conflict arose during the consumption of alcoholic beverages. In a fit of rage, the guest grabbed a knife from the table and struck the host in the face, neck, and chest. Realizing what he had done, the assailant called emergency services.

Medical personnel hospitalized the victim with severe scalp wounds to the face and neck, as well as a penetrating stab wound to the chest. The police registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations and detained the suspect.

A knife and other material evidence were seized from the residence and sent for forensic examination.

As noted by Acting Chief of Police Sergey Pavlov, based on the collected evidence, the suspect has been charged under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This pertains to intentional infliction of serious bodily harm, which poses a danger to life at the time of infliction. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to eight years.

Currently, investigators are petitioning the court for a preventive measure for the suspect. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the procedural guidance of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
