A woman has been apprehended in the Odesa region for her involvement in drug trafficking. She is at risk of facing severe penalties.
Recently, acting on intelligence, officers from Police Department No. 3 of the Odesa police documented the sale of psychotropic substances by a 43-year-old resident of the Fountains community. 
The suspect was detained immediately after selling a package containing the illicit substance, which was confirmed by an express test. She was found in possession of cash and three more packages with similar contents. During a search at her residence, police discovered packaging materials and other evidence of her criminal activities.
All seized substances have been sent for forensic examination.
The head of the investigative department, Serhiy Kumaihorodskyi, stated that based on the gathered evidence, the woman was charged with illegal acquisition, storage for sale, and distribution of psychotropic substances. Under Article 307, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she could face imprisonment of up to eight years. The court has placed her in custody with the possibility of bail set at 242,240 UAH. The investigation continues under the supervision of the Dobroslav District Prosecutor's Office.
Efforts are underway to identify the supply chain of the psychotropic substances to the detainee.
