29 November 2025

The man may face fines or administrative detention.
Yesterday, November 28, the police station in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi received a report from a resident of Tatarbunary. She stated that a man had thrown several puppies out of the trunk of his car in the city center and drove away.
Law enforcement quickly identified the offender, a 53-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Tatarbunary community.
Police located the man at his home, where he explained that he could no longer care for the dogs.
«We have drawn up a report under Part 2 of Article 89 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. Leaving animals to fend for themselves carries a penalty of up to 8,500 UAH or administrative arrest for up to 15 days, with the possibility of confiscating the animal if its life is at risk. The administrative materials will be sent to court,» said the head of police station № 2 in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Eduard Kolomiiets. He also thanked the woman who showed concern for the animals and reported the violation.
