The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has submitted an indictment to the court against a 19-year-old resident of Bilyaivka.
The young man is accused of obstructing the lawful activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intentionally causing property damage through arson, committed in conspiracy (part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 114-1, part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
During the investigation, it was established that in June 2025, while seeking extra income, the young man received a message via Telegram from an enemy agent offering payment for setting fire to vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian military. Detailed instructions were sent to him. A mandatory condition of the «cooperation» was the video recording of the results.
While in Bilyaivka, he purchased a flammable liquid, located a parked Peugeot Boxer van used by a serviceman, doused the vehicle with solvent, and set it ablaze. The vehicle was completely destroyed.
After the arson, the young man filmed the fire at the request of the contractor and sent it as a «report,» hoping to receive the promised reward in cryptocurrency.
At the prosecutor's request, the accused is being held in custody without the possibility of bail.
The preliminary investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
This year, prosecutors have already proven the guilt of 17 individuals in the arson of military vehicles on enemy orders. All arsonists have been brought to justice.
