A road tragedy took place on the evening of November 8 in Tatarbuny.
Initial reports indicate that a resident of the Tatarbuny community, driving a "VAZ" car, hit a man walking on the roadway.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the car was unharmed. A sobriety check confirmed that the driver was sober.
Law enforcement officers are currently on site. An investigation into the circumstances is underway.
Investigators have registered the case in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This pertains to violations of road safety rules resulting in the death of the victim.
A series of forensic examinations will be conducted as part of the proceedings. The investigation is ongoing.
The police once again urge all road users to strictly adhere to traffic rules. Drivers are advised to be cautious and attentive, while pedestrians should use reflective elements on their clothing or flashlights in the dark to increase visibility.
