On the evening of November 4, a tragic incident occurred on the railway tracks in the Peresyp district of Odesa, reported by a dispatcher to the police.
Upon arrival at the scene, the investigative team determined that a woman was crossing the railway tracks at an undefined location, failing to heed the signals from the train's engineer. The driver applied emergency brakes, but unfortunately could not avoid the collision. The victim died at the scene before the ambulance arrived.
Authorities are continuing to work at the site of the tragedy, investigating all its circumstances. The possibility of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or railway operation that led to a person's death) is being considered.
We urge all citizens to be cautious and strictly adhere to safety rules while on the railway. Cross the tracks only at designated locations and never ignore train signals.
