Investigation Concludes in Drug Trafficking Case

03 November 2025

Investigators have completed the pre-trial investigation into drug-related crimes and submitted an indictment to the court. The perpetrator faces a lengthy prison sentence.
This summer, law enforcement uncovered and documented a scheme for the illegal transportation of conscripts from Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova using a truck loaded with firewood, led by a 40-year-old resident of Chornomorsk and his 37-year-old accomplice from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. This case is currently under judicial review.
It is worth noting that after the arrest of the criminals, investigators conducted searches, during which psychoactive substances, including particularly dangerous drugs, were found at the home of the older suspect. The examination revealed the presence of amphetamines (13.4 g), 4-MMC (38.1 g), PVP (0.0015 g), cannabis (138.1 g), cannabis extract (0.2 g), and cocaine (3.3 g).
Police established that the perpetrator illegally purchased and stored these substances at home for future sale.
According to Stanislav Belykov, the senior investigator of Police Department No. 2 of the Odesa District Police Department No. 1, sufficient evidence was gathered to charge the suspect with illegal acquisition and storage of drugs in large quantities. The pre-trial investigation under part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is complete, and the indictment has been submitted to the court. The Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa will support the prosecution, which supervised the pre-trial investigation.
For illegal drug and psychoactive substance transactions, the Chornomorsk resident faces up to twelve years in prison with asset confiscation. He is currently in custody.
Information regarding the individual from whom the accused acquired the "goods" for further sale has been separated into a separate criminal proceeding.
