In Odesa, law enforcement officials apprehended a criminal while he was selling narcotics. Investigators have charged him, and he is currently in custody. He faces a potential sentence of up to eight years.
The illicit activities of the individual were uncovered by investigators from the second police department of the Odesa district with support from the criminal investigation unit of the Odesa regional police.
Police arrested him in the Khadzhybei district as he was delivering two packages of cannabis to a buyer for 10,000 hryvnias.
Investigators seized the drugs and the money received from the transaction, which have been sent for forensic examination.
Senior investigator Artem Vasiliev stated that sufficient evidence has been gathered to charge the individual under Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, pertaining to the illegal acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotic substances. The suspect faces up to eight years in prison, and the court has chosen to hold him in custody with the possibility of bail set at 242,240 hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Peresyp district prosecutor's office.
