Agents from the State Bureau of Investigation are looking into all circumstances surrounding an incident that occurred on October 27, 2025, in Odesa involving law enforcement officers and staff from the local recruitment and social support center.
According to preliminary information, at 9:35 PM on October 27, personnel from the recruitment center stopped a vehicle for document verification. At that moment, another vehicle approached them, from which a man armed with a weapon exited. Threatening the servicemen, he smashed the window of the service vehicle with the butt of his weapon and then fled the scene.
The offender was soon stopped by other law enforcement officers. The perpetrator turned out to be a police officer who was under the influence of alcohol. The weapon was confiscated, and an administrative protocol was drawn up against the offender for driving under the influence.
The DBR has opened a criminal case regarding the threat against law enforcement personnel (Part 1 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pretrial investigation is ongoing. All circumstances of the event are being established. The prosecutorial oversight is conducted by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
