Illegal Possession of Ammunition: Criminal Proceedings Completed
Authorities have completed the investigation of a man accused of illegally possessing ammunition. The case has now been sent to court, and the accused faces up to seven years in prison.
The suspect was apprehended in a village in the Bolhrad district after handing over five grenades and sixty rounds of ammunition to a local resident.
A search of his home revealed a large cache of weapons and ammunition, including 1658 rounds of various calibers and explosive substances.
The suspect admitted to finding them in Zaporizhzhia and burying them in his garden before deciding to dispose of them.
The court has ordered pre-trial detention, and charges involve illegal acquisition and possession of ammunition without the required permits. According to the law, an individual who voluntarily surrenders firearms may avoid criminal liability.
We remind citizens that a campaign is ongoing in Ukraine regarding the declaration of weapons, and those who possess illegally stored ammunition can declare it without facing consequences.
