Arrest of Drug Dealers in Podil District

29 September 2025

Two men have been arrested and charged with the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances. According to police reports, their activities were disrupted by officers from the Podil District Police Department. During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the suspects, aged 41 and 36, were using social media to connect with unidentified individuals from whom they obtained psychotropic drugs for resale to addicts. To avoid attracting attention, they frequently changed their meeting locations.
Law enforcement documented several instances of the sale of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances. After the latest transaction, the offenders were apprehended, and the dangerous goods along with the money were seized. All substances have been sent for examination.
Authorized searches were conducted at the suspects' residences, during which investigators seized their communication devices, a vehicle used for transporting psychotropics, and other items relevant to the case.
“Based on sufficient evidence, the men have been charged with illegal acquisition, possession, transportation with intent to sell, and sale of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances, including repeat offenses. This crime is classified under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years with asset confiscation. The court has chosen a preventive measure of custody with the right to post bail over 240,000 hryvnias. During the investigation, the channel through which the psychotropic substances reached the offenders and the full circle of individuals involved in the crime will be established,” stated Oleg Zhukovsky, head of the Podil District Police Department.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing under the procedural supervision of the Podil District Prosecutor's Office.
