A traffic incident occurred yesterday, September 19, in the afternoon on the road connecting Serpneve-Arciz-Sarata, outside the village of Dolynivka in the Pavlivka community of the Odesa region.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 34-year-old woman from Odesa, driving a "Hyundai" car, failed to maintain a safe speed on a curved section of the road, lost control, and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a "Volkswagen" truck driven by a 53-year-old resident of Kyiv region.
As a result of the accident, four individuals were injured: both drivers and two passengers of the car — a 57-year-old mother of the driver and their 63-year-old acquaintance. All injured parties were hospitalized with various injuries.
Both drivers were tested for intoxication and were found to be sober.
Investigators have registered the case in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning violations of traffic safety regulations causing moderate bodily harm.
A series of expert examinations will be conducted as part of the investigation to clarify all circumstances of the incident. The investigation continues.
Police once again urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules: do not exceed the speed limit, stay alert to road conditions, and drive carefully.
