Crackdown on Exam Fraud in Odesa Region
The suspect was offering to «resolve issues» related to taking exams at the TSC for a fee. He faces up to eight years in prison with property confiscation.
Officers from the Odesa Department of Internal Security, in collaboration with local police investigators, uncovered another scheme of illegal earnings.
A 23-year-old resident of Odesa assured his «clients» that his connections in several service centers guaranteed success in the theoretical exam. He also promised assistance with the practical exam in the future.
During phone conversations with «clients», the so-called «runner» provided step-by-step instructions. He charged 2000 dollars for his services.
The police apprehended the suspect while he was receiving money from the latest «client».
Investigators informed him of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 (abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to eight years in prison with property confiscation.
The procedural supervision is conducted by the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.
