Court Imposes Preventive Measures in Murder Case

02 September 2025

The court has made a decision on the preventive measures for the murder of Andriy Parubiy.
This was confirmed by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv granted the request of the Lviv regional prosecutors. The suspect in the murder of the member of parliament has been placed in custody for 60 days without the option of bail.
The actions of the 52-year-old resident of Lviv are classified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 1 of article 115 (intentional murder) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons).
Recall that on August 30, the suspect fired eight shots at the member of parliament, resulting in the victim's death on the spot. The next day, he was detained in the Khmelnytskyi region.
"When gunshots are heard in the streets, it is a signal for the entire state. We respond decisively to ensure that every crime against human life receives the harshest legal assessment," emphasized the head of the Lviv regional prosecutor's office Mykola Meret.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
