Odessa Incident: 76-Year-Old Woman Charged with Assault
Authorities have charged a 76-year-old woman from Odessa with causing serious bodily harm to her daughter-in-law. The altercation escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim in the abdomen. Investigators have launched a criminal case. The woman faces imprisonment. The incident occurred in an apartment on Skidaniivskyi Uzvoz, where the elderly woman visited her son and his partner to express her discontent with their lifestyle. During the heated argument, she stabbed her daughter-in-law.
Medical personnel who arrived on the scene hospitalized the 50-year-old victim with a penetrating stab wound to the abdominal cavity and notified the police.
Officers apprehended the suspect at the scene. "We have gathered enough evidence and charged the woman with intentional severe bodily harm, which is life-threatening at the moment of infliction. Under Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she faces up to eight years of imprisonment. The court has placed her under round-the-clock house arrest. The investigation continues under the supervision of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa," said investigator Vladislav Kulik.
