The offender has been sentenced to imprisonment with a probation period. During the investigation, employees of the police activity sector No. 2 of the Podilsk district police department discovered that last autumn, a man illegally plowed and sowed a plot of land in the Savran community, approximately 11 hectares in size, which is located within the protected coastal zone of the Southern Bug River. His actions caused material damages to the community amounting to over 347 thousand hryvnias. At the request of the police, the court imposed a lien on the land with the crops.

The investigators of the local police unit conducted a pre-trial investigation during which they collected sufficient evidence and, under the procedural guidance of the Lubashivka district prosecutor's office, charged the individual with illegal occupation of the land in the protected zone. The police sent an indictment to the court under part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as well as a plea agreement made between the man and the prosecutor.

After reviewing the submitted materials and considering the defendant's admission of guilt, sincere remorse, and full compensation for the damage caused, the court sentenced the man to one year of imprisonment with a probation period of one year. During the probation period, the convicted individual must periodically appear for registration at the authorized probation agency and inform the agency about any changes in residence or employment. In case of violation of obligations or committing a new offense, the convicted person may face imprisonment.
