Couple Arrested in Odesa for Drug Trafficking

A 28-year-old woman and her 38-year-old husband were arrested in the Primorsky district of Odesa for selling narcotics from a café. Investigators have filed charges and preventive measures have been taken. The couple faces up to ten years in prison with asset confiscation.
The drug enforcement agency discovered the couple's operation, which involved selling drugs to the same client. Police documented three instances of the couple selling five packets of narcotics, including restricted cannabis and kratom. All substances have been confirmed by expert analysis.
During authorized searches at the couple's residence and workplace, police found over fifty packets of various drugs, drug packaging equipment, materials, cash, mobile phones, and other items relevant to the case. All substances have been sent for expert examination.
“We gathered enough evidence and notified the suspects of their charges under part 2 of article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty for this crime is ten years imprisonment with asset confiscation. The court has placed the husband in custody with the option for bail set at 242,240 UAH, while his wife is under night house arrest. The investigation continues under the supervision of the local prosecutor's office,” stated the head of the investigative department, Pavlo Havryshko.
The police are working to establish the channels through which the drugs were supplied to the suspects.
