Today, August 11, a car accident occurred in the afternoon on the Balta – Kryve Ozero highway in the Odesa region.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 33-year-old driver of a «VAZ» vehicle lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a «MAN» truck driven by a 38-year-old man. Unfortunately, the driver of the passenger car was killed, while the truck driver remained unharmed. An alcohol test confirmed that the truck driver was sober. Investigation teams were present at the scene to gather evidence.

Authorities have filed a case under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses violations of traffic safety rules leading to death.

As part of the investigation, a series of forensic examinations will be conducted to establish the full circumstances of the event.

Police once again urge drivers to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and stay alert to changes in road conditions to respond appropriately.
