In the Mykolaiv community, a case of illegal fishing has been uncovered as a local resident dug a lake on water fund territory. The violation came to light after the head of the community reported it to the police.
Authorities determined that a 35-year-old man, lacking the required permits, used an excavator to create a water body on communal land for personal fish breeding.
As a result of his actions, he unlawfully extracted 8,652 cubic meters of water, and the area of the artificial water object was 0.3022 hectares.
"We have gathered sufficient evidence and charged the individual with illegal possession of water fund land. The maximum penalty for this offense is up to three years of restriction of liberty," said senior investigator Alisa Sitnik.
The police urge citizens to adhere to the law and protect nature.
