Police have apprehended a resident of Odessa involved in illegal drug trafficking. Investigators have charged the 66-year-old suspect, facing potential imprisonment.

Recently, acting on operational information regarding the suspect's involvement in drug crimes, officers from Police Department No. 3 arrested him while he was selling narcotics in the Peresyp district.

Authorities seized ten bags of a narcotic substance, confirmed by an express test, along with 2,500 hryvnias obtained from the sale.

During a search of the suspect's residence, police discovered around half a kilogram of the same substance, a mobile phone containing evidence relevant to the investigation, and packaging materials for the drugs.

The seized substances have been sent for examination.

The suspect has been charged under part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal possession and distribution of narcotics. He faces up to eight years in prison. The court has remanded him in custody pending investigation. The drug trafficking channel is being established. Investigative actions are ongoing under the supervision of the Suforov District Prosecutor's Office.
