Traffic Accident in Odesa Region
The incident took place yesterday, August 1st, around 4 PM in the village of Lymanka in the Odesa region. Preliminary reports indicate that a 37-year-old driver of a «Mazda» struck a 44-year-old man who was crossing the road at an unregulated location.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital by ambulance with various injuries. The driver was tested for alcohol – he was sober.
A crime scene investigation team and a patrol police unit from Police Department No. 1 of the Odesa District Police Department No. 2 were working at the site.
Investigators have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to violating traffic safety regulations causing moderate bodily harm to the victim.
In the course of the investigation, the vehicle has been seized, and a series of forensic examinations will be conducted. The full circumstances of the accident are being established.
