On the evening of February 11, a tragic incident occurred in Odesa on Ivan Funtovyi Street when a 29-year-old driver of a «Toyota» lost control and crashed into a power pole, resulting in the death of a 31-year-old passenger. The driver was hospitalized with injuries.

Dmytro Slyuta, head of the transport crime investigation department, stated that preliminary findings indicate the driver failed to control the vehicle. Unfortunately, the passenger sustained fatal injuries. The driver was tested for sobriety and was found to be sober.

An investigation has been initiated under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses violations of traffic safety rules leading to death. A series of forensic examinations have been ordered, and all circumstances of the incident are being established.
