Arrest of Drug Dealer in Odesa Region
Law enforcement authorities in Odesa have apprehended a 47-year-old man suspected of drug-related crimes. He was involved in the cultivation of cannabis and the production of cannabis products for sale. An indictment has been sent to court, and he faces up to eight years in prison.
The man's criminal activities were uncovered by the Odesa police department during operational measures.
He was caught in the act while selling three packages of cannabis for 600 UAH. The police seized the money and the drugs as evidence.
During the pre-trial investigation conducted under the guidance of the Bilayaivka District Prosecutor's Office, it was established that the man was growing cannabis in his home for sale.
A sanctioned search was carried out at his residence, where officers found 15 cannabis plants in pots, processed cannabis, and other items of interest for the investigation.
The origin of the plants was confirmed through expert conclusions.
Investigator Denys Isayev stated that after gathering sufficient evidence, charges were brought against the suspect for:
Part 1 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal cultivation of cannabis in quantities ranging from ten to fifty plants;
Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code – illegal manufacture, storage for the purpose of distribution, and illegal distribution of narcotic substances.
The maximum penalty for these offenses is eight years of imprisonment.
The indictment has been forwarded to the court.
