Today, July 6, a tragic motorcycle accident took place in the village of Olexandrivka in the Odesa region.

According to Dmytro Slyuta, head of the transport crime investigation department, it was preliminarily established that a 34-year-old motorcycle rider lost control, resulting in a fall. Unfortunately, the rider died, while his 31-year-old passenger sustained various injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The investigative and operational group of the regional police and the patrol police unit were on the scene to investigate the traffic incident.

The investigators have registered the case in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, relating to violations of traffic safety rules that resulted in death or serious bodily harm.

As part of the investigation, the police have seized the vehicle and will conduct several judicial examinations.

The police once again urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules, especially not to exceed the speed limit and to stay vigilant regarding road conditions.
