Bus Accident Investigation in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi
The police are investigating the circumstances of a traffic accident involving a bus and a car in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. The incident occurred on the evening of June 27 on the Odessa – Reni road, near the village of Spaske in the Tatarbunar community.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 45-year-old bus driver, heading towards Reni, crossed into the oncoming lane to overtake, leading to a collision with a car driven by a 22-year-old woman who was making a left turn onto a secondary road.
The female driver of the car was hospitalized with various injuries. The bus driver and his passengers were unharmed.
Breathalyzer tests showed that both drivers were sober.
According to Edward Kolomiiets, head of Police Station No. 2 in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, investigators have registered the case under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, relating to violations of traffic safety rules that resulted in moderate bodily harm. A series of forensic examinations will be conducted as part of the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing under the procedural guidance of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor's Office. All circumstances of the event are being established.
