Arrest of Drug Dealers in Odesa: New Details

14 June 2025

Odesa law enforcement has uncovered two individuals involved in drug trafficking - a 46-year-old foreign man and a local woman of the same age. They were actively selling narcotics in the city center.

According to the Odesa regional police, drug dealers were apprehended for distributing illegal substances. Special operational units documented the activities of a 46-year-old foreign citizen residing in Odesa and a local 46-year-old woman.

During the investigation, police recorded instances where the man sold approximately three wraps of cannabis twice. At the same time, the woman sold 24 methadone pills to a buyer on two occasions.

The methods of obtaining drugs for the arrested individuals varied. The source of the cannabis for the foreigner has yet to be established, while the woman received methadone from a hospital under a dependency treatment program and subsequently resold it.

During the arrest, officers found an additional 10 packages of a plant-based substance in the foreigner's backpack. They also seized part of the money obtained from drug sales and mobile phones containing evidence of criminal activity.

"The suspects have been charged under Article 307 of the Criminal Code for illegal acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotics, including repeated offenses. The court has ordered custody with the option for bail," said Anastasia Patkivska, deputy head of the investigative department.

The drug dealers face a penalty of up to 10 years in prison with asset forfeiture. The operation was conducted by the narcotics crime unit under the supervision of the Malynivskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
