Investigation Launched in Belgorod-Dniester District
Authorities are moving forward with charges against suspects in a case that could lead to significant prison time.
The incident occurred in late May in the Belgorod-Dniester district. It became public knowledge yesterday, June 8, after a video was shared on social media by one of the suspects at the crime scene.
Following the initiation of a criminal case, police identified the offenders as two friends aged 16 and 17. The youths have been detained in accordance with legal procedures.
The matter of formally notifying them of charges related to torture, committed in conspiracy with a group, is currently being decided, along with the choice of a preventive measure.
Under the sanction of part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years.
The investigation continues under the supervision of the Belgorod-Dniester District Prosecutor's Office.
