Authorities in the Izmail district are investigating a car accident that led to the tragic deaths of a mother and her two children. The incident occurred today, June 8, in the morning near the village of Katlabug.

The National Police of the Odessa region reported that a 37-year-old driver of a VAZ car likely did not choose a safe speed, lost control, and crashed into a roadside tree. The vehicle contained his 41-year-old wife and their three children aged 4 months, 12 years, and 15 years.

"Regrettably, the woman with the infant and the oldest child died. The 12-year-old child and the father were hospitalized. At the hospital, biological samples were taken from the driver to check for intoxication."

A forensic investigation team from the regional police and local emergency services is currently at the scene. Police are working to determine all circumstances surrounding this tragic event. The legal qualification and entry of information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations are being considered."
