Arrest of Man for Trafficking Explosives
In the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, law enforcement conducted an operation that led to the arrest of a man for the illegal sale of three TNT explosives. He has been charged and a preventive measure has been imposed. The offender faces up to seven years in prison.
This incident occurred a few days ago in a village of the Serhiyivka community, where operatives and investigators documented his criminal activities. From the scene, three TNT explosives weighing a total of 1200 grams were seized. The explosives were confirmed by experts and sent for further analysis.
Additionally, the suspect was found in possession of 5000 UAH, received from the sale of the dangerous goods, and a phone containing information relevant to the investigation.
The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after receiving the money. With ample evidence, he was charged with illegal acquisition, storage, carrying, and trafficking of explosives. This crime is classified under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by up to seven years of imprisonment. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of bail set at 242,240 UAH, which he did not utilize. Police are continuing their investigation to determine how the explosives came into the suspect's possession.
It is important to note: according to Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, individuals who voluntarily surrender illegally held explosives to authorities are not subject to criminal liability.
