Revamping Odesa Lyceum No. 56: New Opportunities for Students

14 November 2025

In Odesa, a significant renovation is underway at one of the key educational institutions in the Primorsky district — Odesa Lyceum No. 56, located at 1 Tinisna Street.

The renovation work is being carried out with the implementation of modern energy-saving technologies and improvements to the surroundings.

As of today, the following has been completed:

  •  landscaping: installation of sports fields with soft flooring;
  •  partial replacement of the metal fence;
  •  establishment of a new ramp for easy access to the school from Tinisna Street;
  •  restoration of the sidewalk covering in front of the school;
  • insulation of the building's roof;
  •  entrances equipped with ramps and covered with non-slip tiles.

Currently, work continues on insulating the facades and base, restoring paving, installing canopies over entrances, and setting up rainwater drainage systems.

Greening of the area is also in progress. By the end of the year, plans are in place to install sports equipment and finalize the fencing of sports areas.

This year, a mural titled “Towards the Dream” has appeared on the facade of the lyceum, created as part of a joint project by the NGO “Ukrainian Sappers Association” and the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.

Note
The educational institution at 1 Tinisna Street was founded in 1946. Initially, it was located in two old buildings. In 1964, a three-story block was constructed, and additional premises were added in 1983.
Currently, over 1200 students study at the lyceum, with more than 100 teaching staff, making it one of the largest educational institutions in the Primorsky district of Odesa.
