New Horizons in Creativity: Students' Literature and History Contest

04 February 2025

On January 30, 2025, the city stage of the XXIV National Student Creativity Contest «Let Us Unite, My Brothers!» took place, featuring students from grades 5-11 of general secondary education institutions in the nominations of «Literature» and «History of Ukraine and State Building».

This year, the epigraph for the creative works was taken from the words of Taras Shevchenko: «Our thought, our song will not die, will not perish… Here, people, is our glory, Glory to Ukraine!» with the theme of the works being «Creating for the Future».

Sixty-three students from grades 6-11 of municipal secondary education institutions in Odesa participated in the contest.

The jury noted that all works were filled with patriotism and pride for Ukraine's heroic past and present. The authors explored the development processes and renewal of various aspects of national culture and their role in the fight for the independence of Ukraine.

Special attention was given to the contributions of prominent regional artists and scholars to the cultural life of Ukraine.

In the «History of Ukraine and State Building» nomination, the jury highlighted the logical presentation of material, the research character, and the participants' ability to work with historical sources. In the «Literature» nomination, students provided a variety of creative works (essays, stories, poems).

Based on the jury's decision for the city stage of the XXIV National Student Creativity Contest, winners were determined and awarded diplomas from the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council. Teachers who prepared the winners were also thanked.
