Meeting with Farmers in Odesa: New Opportunities and Challenges
Yesterday, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, together with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval, and the head of the State Fishery Agency, Vladyslav Neveselyi, held an important meeting with local farmers. This was reported by the press service of the Odesa OVA.
The key topics of discussion included irrigation, which is vital for the region's development, as well as livestock, agro-processing, and aquaculture. Other significant areas included selection, development of agricultural education, construction of vegetable storage facilities, and support for domestic winemaking. Additionally, a new irrigation system was launched in the Odesa district yesterday.
This irrigation system provides watering for over 12,200 hectares of agricultural land, with a total length of main canals measuring 120 km. The system consists of 47 pumping stations that supply water to a closed irrigation network. Moreover, participants visited agro-industrial enterprises to learn about production capacities and engage with the company staff.
