Naftogaz and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have signed a historic deal for Ukraine worth €500 million for gas procurement. 

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko via Telegram. 

"Naftogaz and the EBRD have signed a record deal for our country — €500 million for gas procurement. This is the largest project for the bank in Ukraine," — she wrote.

Svyrydenko added that this loan is provided for the first time under the EU guarantee, without the need for a Ukrainian state guarantee.

"This will enable Ukraine to better prepare for the heating season and ensure that Ukrainian households have warmth and light even on the toughest winter days. I thank the EBRD and the EU for their support, and the government and Naftogaz team for their professional work," — the Prime Minister noted.
