New Agreement Signed Between Ukraine and Switzerland for Recovery Support
Ukraine and Switzerland have finalized a new agreement concerning cooperation in the recovery sector. This document was signed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Federal Council of Switzerland.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
According to the ministry, the Swiss government considers Ukraine's recovery a strategic priority and plans to allocate 5 billion francs (approximately €4.8 billion) by 2036.
The agreement includes the provision of non-repayable financial and technical assistance from Switzerland for the procurement of goods and services from Swiss companies for recovery projects in the following areas:
- Energy;
- Transport and mobility;
- Machinery for manufacturing processes;
- Construction;
- Water supply;
Prevention and response to emergencies.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the agreement outlines a transparent project selection mechanism through public procurement under Swiss law, involving only Swiss companies. Special attention will be given to:
- The impact on the recovery process in Ukraine;
- The contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goals and a green transition;
- The creation of jobs in Ukraine;
- The professional training of Ukrainian specialists.
