Projected Budget Support for Agriculture Sector in 2025
For 2025, a budget allocation of 10.9 billion UAH is anticipated to support farmers, with 43% coming from international financial institutions.
This was stated by Nina Yuzhanina, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, as reported by INTERFAX-Ukraine.
"In 2024, the budget support for agricultural producers amounted to 7.075 billion UAH, facilitated by programs from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Ministry of Economy," she noted.
According to her, 39% of the funding (2.78 billion UAH) was provided by international financial organizations. These funds were allocated for per hectare subsidies (70%), subsidies for maintaining cattle (22%), and subsidies for keeping goats and sheep (8%).
The remaining part of the state budget, amounting to 1.36 billion UAH, was directed towards grants for establishing or developing processing enterprises (65%), horticulture, berry farming, and viticulture (23%), and greenhouse farming (12%).
Yuzhanina reported that for 2025, budget support for farmers is planned to increase to 10.9 billion UAH, with 43% potentially funded by international financial organizations.
She reminded that in 2024, the budget financing for humanitarian demining of agricultural lands was only 0.4 billion UAH. Of the allocated funds for these expenses, over 2.5 billion UAH were directed towards payments for the "Winter eSupport" program.
