Increase in Revenue from Digital Services Tax in Ukraine
The digital services tax, which foreign companies pay, generated over 7 billion UAH for Ukraine from January to May 2025.
According to Danilo Hetmantsev, the head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, the amount of taxed digital services has risen by 29.5% compared to the same period in 2024, which is 1.8 billion more than in 2023.
The number of companies paying this tax has increased to 136. From January to May 2025, revenues amounted to approximately 7 billion UAH, equivalent to €76.1 million or $85.2 million.
Among the largest taxpayers are Google, Apple, Meta, Valve, Sony, Netflix, Spotify, Adobe, Etsy, Epic, Upwork, and Wargaming Group. Hetmantsev also noted that Bolt and Uklon contributed €4.4 million, while OnlyFans paid $0.8 million.
It is important to recall that the digital services tax is a VAT of 20% that came into effect on January 1, 2022. It is paid by foreign companies not registered in Ukraine based on income from various digital services.
Previously, Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, reported that in the first quarter of 2025, the digital services tax brought in 3.5 billion UAH.
